The House Committee (HC) is the highest leadership structure of a residence at Stellenbosch University that is elected by the house and serve a term of 12 months under guidance of the Primaria (head of the House Committee), Vice-Primaria and our Resident Head. Each member of the house gets an equal vote and, in Monica, any resident can avail themselves for this positions.

The body represents the residence and connects it to the rest of campus and the broader University. The House Committee enforces the rules set by the University for residences, but also leads the residence to ensure that it is an inclusive and welcoming space that fosters personal growth. They also offer leadership as a tool to help the voices within our community be heard.
The House Committee sets out to be a group of forward thinkers that are passionate about their residence. Our team consists of ten members including the Primaria, Vice-Primaria and Head Mentor. The House Committee members all have portfolios that they are responsible for and serve as facilitators to help residents achieve their goals.
This is the second year that Monica Residence has selected a Strategic Advisor. The Strategic advisor is an official leadership position on Stellenbosch University's campus and is viewed as a House Committee member. Their role is to provide our community with an outside perspective to ensure that Monica Residence grows without isolation.
