The First Years' Committee (FYC)

consists of a group of passionate first year students that are elected by their fellow first years in the first term of every new year. They are responsible for organising social events aimed at their year group, like the first years' dance and various other tasks.

The goal of the FYC is to ensure that the first year group remains as close-knit and comfortable as they are during welcoming.

The FYC also allows first years to become involved in the residence and

promotes leadership development

and personal growth.
